2/8/2022 0 Comments Self Care for MinimalistsBefore this Valentine’s Day, let’s talk about taking care of OURSELVES - the person we should LOVE the most and care for the most, although as moms, it can sometimes feel like (and even be) the complete opposite. “Self care” is a huge buzzword (in my opinion). It’s a great concept, but can actually be frustrating - so many moms try to treat themselves and think, “Is this self care? Am I taking enough/too much time away for myself?” It can be hard to get a “break” - we’re small business owners, I am a stay at home mom and the primary caregiver of my kiddos. BUT - there are still ways to indulge, even if you DON’T have the luxury to take a bigger chunk of time away from your every day. Since I believe less is more, here are 5 small things you can do TODAY that I would absolutely consider “self care”. Treat yourself without a huge money or time commitment - sounds pretty “minimalist” to me! 😉
🌄 Get ready every morning; take 10 minutes to make yourself feel good. Kids hugging legs optional. 💄Upgrade your consumables and find your favorites; coffee, snacks, makeup, hair products, bath products, etc. 👜 Buy timeless clothing and accessories that complement your existing and evolving closet; WEAR your favorite clothes, jewelry, and embrace your style. 📃 Tackle that frustration point in your home and solve it. Do you need a better way to meal plan? More designated places for items? A paper filing system? Take a few hours and bang it out. 🧵 Pick up a lost hobby for a few hours a week; sewing and crafting, baking, cooking, etc. Involve your kids and share your joy with them. For years, I wasn’t into Valentine’s Day, but my husband proposed to me 8 years ago on the 14th (on our couch, in our first apartment), and it’s one of my favorite memories!
